Sensorimotor intelligence is the beginning of intelligence in practical, lived activity, which centres on the child's action on objects.
Thus, sensorimotor intelligence is practical, action-based, lived knowledge based on richly coordinated action schemes.
In doing so, he described a series of stages beginning with sensorimotor intelligence, followed by preoperational, concrete-operational, and finally formal operational thinking.
